Peace Direct is an international NGO which supports local people in some of the most challenging conflict environments worldwide. They empower communities to stop violence by providing them with the support, skills, resources and voice needed to make peace a practical option.
Peace Direct work to achieve the following goals:
- Power: Power in the peacebuilding and wider system shifts to local actors
- Voice: The voices of local peacebuilders will be consistently heard and respected in the corridors of power, across the sector and among their own communities, supported by a strong consistent voice from Peace Direct
- Visibility: Local peacebuilders, Peace Direct and peacebuilding as an issue will have greater visibility and global understanding, to generate increased support for this work
- Resilience and adaptability: Local peacebuilders and Peace Direct are more effective and resilient, able to adapt to adversity and have greater collective agency to contribute to sustainable peace
About the project
Peace Direct were looking for an agency to take on the hosting and ongoing maintenance for two WordPress sites: peacedirect.org and peacestartshere.world. It was important they found an agency experienced in managing WordPress websites, who were liked minded and had experience of working within the charity sector.
After a successful tender process in 2025, Studio 24 were appointed as their new digital agency. Our experience of working with other charities such as Royal National Institute of Blind People, CBM Global, Kinship and The Wiener Holocaust Library meant we could bring our learnings and insights, and adapt these to help Peace Direct amplify their global impact and better connect with supporters, partners, and the communities they serve.
Tasked initially with the seamless migration of their websites on our Mythic Beasts hosting environment, we then reviewed the existing sites to look for any performance or accessibility improvements which could be made.
Peace Direct is building a safer and more just world for everyone. As a team we are honoured to work with such an impactful and inspiring charity, whose work and impact around the world is clear to see.
Peace Connect: a global peacebuilding gathering
Peace Connect, a five-day gathering for local peacebuilders and their allies took place 13-17 October 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya. Peace Connect was the first event of its kind. Hundreds of peacebuilders from the Global South, came together for a week of connection, creativity, and collective action.
We worked collaboratively with Peace Direct to create a dedicated programme page, promoting this unique gathering and showcasing the breadth of workshops, discussions, debates, wellbeing activities and lightning talks.
Ongoing partnership
We continue to work with Peace Direct, providing technical support and maintenance while offering strategic advice on optimising the site to maximise user engagement and increase fundraising.
