The client

Thwaites Fine Stringed Instruments is a family run business specialising in the sale, hire, repair and restoration of Double Basses, Violins, Violas and Cellos.

Their aim is to encourage, nurture and inspire whilst providing value for money. With a collective 100 years' experience they are able to provide an exceptional and professional service to all of their customers.

The project 

Thwaites were looking to work with an agency they could trust and have confidence in. After personal recommendation they chose us as their digital partner to build them a website to really reflect their knowledge and passion.

The objectives of this project were to:

  • Provide a professional website reflecting the company brand
  • Ensure Thwaites’ expertise and company values were reflected
  • Give potential customers trust in the company
  • Inform customers what services and products Thwaites offer

The solution

At the start of the project we conducted an initial planning phase to scope out the exact requirements, understand users, review the site content, and conclude the best solution for the project.

Following this, and after careful research, we then developed a concept design which reflected Thwaites’ brand, values and goals. Once this had been presented and signed off by the client, we then set about building the brand new website.

To ensure the usability of the site matched the professional design, was created responsively ensuring it works across all devices - a must for any website.

Special functionality was added to the site, making it easy for customers to explore Thwaites’ full service offering. This included both a site-wide and specific product search, and an instrument filter to narrow the options down by origin, size and price.

We also added a blog to the site, allowing the team at Thwaites to provide news and updates to really reflect their expertise and instil trust in their services. This is also a great hit for SEO, giving them an advantage over competitors.

To provide a call to action and data capture tool we also added a mailing list sign-up to the site so that the team can easily stay in contact with their customers, providing ongoing communication and the opportunity to nurture relationships.

The site was build on the Content Management System (CMS) Expression Engine, allowing the team at Thwaites to update and maintain all elements themselves. Full training was given by our developers, making it a straight-forward process.
