The regulator of the Landfill Communities Fund

The client

ENTRUST is the regulator of the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), an innovative tax credit scheme which enables Landfill Operators (LO's) to contribute money to enrolled Environmental Bodies (EB's). Through this they carry out projects that meet environmental objects contained in The Landfill Tax Regulations 1996 (Regulations). After a lengthy tender process, Studio 24 won the contract to redevelop their ageing site.

The challenge

ENTRUST wanted to develop a friendly and credible website to allow both knowledgeable and inexperienced users of the scheme, access to information that would aid effective engagement with the LCF.

Because the previous ENTRUST website was built five years prior to the tender process, advances in technology meant the information on the site needed to be presented more effectively and be easier to find by users.

The main product resulting from this project would be a newly designed and redeveloped website for ENTRUST, in accordance with the expectations of the users and the website owners. The anticipated business benefits arising from this project were the following:

More effective enquiry handling:
•    resulting in a reduced number of telephone enquiries
•    increased transparency of information

Improved satisfaction surveys:
•   Increased online document access

Increased Enviromental Body (EB) Registrations and project approvals:
•   benchmarked against current rates

Increased customer satisfaction:
•   measured in annual survey and direct website feedback

Enable compliance with regulations:
•   benchmarked against current rates

The solution

Key functionality for the new ENTRUST website includes a password-protected Content Management System, Website search, Statistics data, Funder and Projects filter, Moderation of content by editors and publishers, Twitter feed pulled in via twitter API.
