Digital Marketing Internship at Studio 24

Recently welcomed to Studio 24 I am keen to learn as much as possible in the weeks of my internship. My name is Cameron Izzard from Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. From a young age, I have been working with computers and have excelled in subjects like IT. This therefore lead me to study ICT and business at Long Road Sixth from College in Cambridge. Whilst studying at Long Road I soon realised I had a major interest in marketing and found that I was very passionate in this area of business.

After some research on jobs in this area of business and IT. I finished College knowing that I wanted to follow a career in Digital Marketing. After some time, I found myself with an internship at Studio 24 in Cambridge. My first day like most first days in a new work place was daunting yet exciting. On my arrival at Studio 24 I was greeted at the door and was soon introduced to the team. Within the space of 2 hours I had been introduced to everyone and shown round the office, everyone was very welcoming and I could quickly tell that this was a great atmosphere to work in.

I have spent most of my time so far with the digital marketing team, Ben Challoner and Ellie Morgan both very talented and interesting individuals. My first day and my first introduction to Digital Marketing was overwhelming as there was so much to learn from the get go. But I quickly picked it up and was looking at SEO audits and understanding the different tools that are used in order to complete them.

In the morning, I was shown how to use Google Analytics, MOZ pro and SEMrush. These tools took some getting used to after never having used them before. But after a period of time they started to make sense and I was looking at different websites organic search traffic, paid search traffic and backlinks, understanding what they meant and why they were useful to digital marketers.

That afternoon, I sat with Ben as he was showing me the different ways to use AdWords in titles, URLs and metadata. I found this quite hard to fathom at first but after a bit of time and with Bens expertise it came to me how they were used and why. I find AdWords to be very interesting because of the effects that they have on the rankings of webpages and also the way in which they are used across the entirety of a website.

I am currently at my second day at Studio 24 and am ready to learn loads more before I set off home. All the knowledge I have obtained so far will help me achieve my goals to be successful in the digital marketing industry. The Studio 24 office in Cambridgeshire is the perfect place for me to grow and improve my skills and hopefully make some new friends along the way. I will never forget my time at Studio 24 as it will be the place that kick started my career.
